Glen Times Update April 16

Hi, Glen residents and guests. This is Cub Libby, as opposed to Cub Abby. Thought I'd try to make that clear, since some people seem to have been confused by our names! Those people had better not include Colin O'Brien or March Nova, or Abby and I will have to take matters into our own hands!

But enough about Abby and me. Tonight's Times issue is a solemn one, because there's not much good news right now. The flooding is causing serious problems, maybe even injuries and deaths, so it's not much of a time for comedy. With that thought in mind, here are your links:

Robert and Julie

A picture is worth a thousand words. But how much is an original of Sir Robert of Loxley(or is that Robin Hood) worth? If you're Julie, it's priceless!

The Portrait

Maximus, Joimus and Cort

This news is so big, it required seven parts to tell it all. Maximus, Cort, and the other men of the Meridius land battle the disaster of flood waters in the Glen. But will the battle for his land be unimportant to the General if the disaster claims his wife?

The Flood

Part 1 Autumn Anemones

Part 2 Just a Little More...

Part 3 Edge of the High Bank

Part 4 The Wetness on her Face

Part 5 Swept Along

Part 6 So we can Sleep

Part 7 What had not been Lost

Travis, Kyle, Jan and Jimmie

Egan wetblueK.jpg

The McGees are also fighting the weather, doing their best to keep both people and their cattle safe. Will Travis make it through uninjured?

An Inland Sea part 1

Winnie Peeg and Sarah McGee

peeg.jpg252505~Helen-Mirren-Posters.jpg

The folks in the Glen aren't the only ones dealing with the flood. Miss Peeg and Travis' mother, Sarah, are trapped between Coff's Harbor and home. Will they be rescued in time?

The Botanical Flood

Toni and Richie

Someone makes it home through the flood waters--Richie Roberts. And is Toni glad to see him!

Richie makes it Home

Ivy and Ian

Ivy's Uncle Ian tries to make her see reason. She needs to take some time off from the store and deal with whatever illness is plaguing her.

Only talking Sense

Ivy and Hans Van Der Brecken

Ivy has a unique and beautiful way of bringing her father into the house she shares with Jim. His 'Rules' are both practical and touching.

House Rules

Weather Report:
Tomorrow
will continue to be partly cloudy in the Glen, but the rain seems to have let up! Thank goodness! We'll continue to report on any injuries or damages caused by the flooding but, hopefully, the worst is over!

************ ***ENTERTAINMENT SECTION***** ********* ****

We don't do a section like this very often, but tomorrow a movie is coming out which holds a special place in Cal's heart. It's called "State of Play" and it's main character is an old-school investigative reporter, much like Cal himself! It stars an actor by the name of Russell Crowe, an Australian who's managed to make quite a name for himself in the world of cinema. All the reviews have been great, so go see it when you get a chance. And don't forget to let Cal know what you think!

Thanks to B for the uploads, Cal and Colleen for starting the paper in the first place, and all you wonderful writers and contributors who make the Glen possible!

Glen Time Update March 25

Howdy Ya'll!

Cub reporter Abby here, bringing you yet another latest edition to the Glen Times. Seems even though we've been busily celebrating the Wade Wedding all week, some of the folks around our busy little community have still found time to make the news (and boy what news it is! WOW!). Great for me, of course, because otherwise, I'd be out of a job! Heh....heh.. .(no ideas there, Cal! You know you love and need both Libby and I around here to make your life more interesting. ..if nothing else, to grab that 5th cup of coffee for ya! )

Heck, I'll go out and make my own news if it gets TOO slow around here!

Alrighty then, enough of my chattering about, here's what's happening around town tonight....

Oh my gosh! Something terrible has happened over at the Mill! Luckily, for Alistair, that hunky mystery man from the forest that Toni's been fantasizing about (chillax, Richie babe, it's JUST a fantasy) just happens to be passing by and sees what's amiss. (don't want to spoil things
for anyone here, so let's just say this... I knew Alistair and Robert were HOT, but this is a bit...um.... scary, to say the least!)

All I can say is, I don't know what this town will do if we lose our dear, dear good Reverend Alistair... he's touched so many lives here in The Glen and is such a caring man and now a devoted husband to Ahnna... okay, I'm wiping my tears now... I just can't bear the thought of it all... poor, poor Ahnna, she's been through so much these past few weeks! Not this! Not this!

And what of Robert? Seems this has all left him in dire straights, as well, not to mention sent the poor confused man back several hundred years or so into his past... What will Julie think when she learns the truth about the man she's grown so very fond of?

And hold on to your swords there, cuz this story gets even better... seems our resident Roman General might find a sort of "kinship" with our mysterious woodsman. Am I seeing signs of new BFF's? Hmm...

There's 9 chapters of this tale up so far dear readers, just enough to keep you on the edge of your seats and shed a few tears before the nights at an end.

Next up, could it be there's gonna be yet another wedding here in our community in the very near future? Well, if Jan has anything to say about it there might be! Good luck, honey... as I always say, that man Travis is a catch! Go get 'em, girl!

Then, back on the McGee farm, someone's been up to some mischief and now Jimmy Kelp's left chasin' calves. Shame on who ever did this! Poor Jimmy, like he doesn't have enough to do around that place already.

Finally, in our last story for tonight, seems Toni's gone and fessed up about her fantasy man, but Richie is none too pleased. Well, Richie... would you feel any better knowing there's women out there fantasizing about you? I'm just sayin'... enjoy the good stuff while your wife is wanting to give it, babe! Could be a LONG drought comin' up, better store up for the winter now, I always say.

That's all there is for tonight, so here's your links:

Glen Times for Thursday, March 5th

Howdy, Ya'll!

Yep, Cal and Colleen are still away, so us cubbies are here doing the update tonight. Oh boy, and what a great update we have for you, too.

http://libriscrowe.com/tower/Jeffrey%20worried.jpg

First up, news travels fast in our small little community, and when Jeffrey hears about the murder he fears for Meggie's safety and quickly runs to her side to keep her safe. However, is it his protection that Meggie is really needing or wanting? Is this what they need to finally get past their issues with trust? This reporter sure is pulling for them!

Next, Liana is worried about about losing her husband because of the things he has done in his past catching up with him. Can her talk with Alistair help give her the peace of mind she needs? Like the song says, sweetie, Stand by your man!

In the first of three chapters, Joimus calls Alistair and fills him in about Marce's murder and Ahnna's attack. Now that he's returned, can he give Ahnna the comfort and security she needs?

Next up, with all that Ahnna has been through, the last thing she wants to do is go back to her flat. Does Alistair have the perfect solution for this?

Finally, Alistair takes Ahnna to the morgue in Coffs to identify her sister's body and is there to comfort her in her time of need. Love has been brewing for these two for quite some time now, and I for one am hoping they both find some real happiness in their lives soon.

Over in the more remote parts of the Glen, Robert invites Julie in to see his magnificent workshop, then into his house for a bit of tea. Is he finally letting down his guard a bit and opening up a part of himself?

Amanda has found the perfect little cottage for herself, however, will she be moving there alone?

peeg.jpghandohhh.jpgrichie courtlean.jpg

Miss Peeg, ever the busy one, has tracked down Hando, but can she talk him into going back to the boarding house? And what happens when she must tell her boss what she's been up to? I swear, this woman is some kind of miracle worker in disguise, she is! What a gal!

russ qqqq.jpeg2009-02-26-cate_blanchett-150x150.jpgRC1075.jpg

Last up, he's rich, he's handsome, and he's apparently used to getting what he wants. Luckily for Travis, this time is no different.

Okee-Dokie, that's all she wrote. Here's your links:

Miss Peeg's Unlikely Liason

Travis, Jan and Tee

Travis Gets What He Wants

Big round of applause for all the talented writers and to my favorite cubbie cohort, Libby, for helping out with the blurbs tonight. Also, I need to give a huge shout-out to B for lending her expertise to tonight's update....couldn't have done it without you, babe! Thanks again for all your help and guidance!

Happy reading ya'll!

Oh yeah, and if you happen to see a certain hunky mechanic roaming around the Glen, give him a big ole hug for me.

Peace Out and all that!

:) Abby

Glen Times Arrives On Time

I did remember to type the date correctly. It is 2009 but my check book is slightly messed up. At least I got it right where it counts. Do you think if I put 2008 on my checks they'll be voided for being over ninety days old?

No such luck, huh?

Anyway. tonight we have another wonderful trilogy of tales from Sir Robert and Julie St. John, or should I say Julianna? These two give off sparks and in more ways than one. They certainly are an attractive couple. Must be all those mud baths I tell you.

Ben and Liana share their Christmas with us in their installment. Seems they're both bookworms but there are two special gifts under the tree. One for each of them and perhaps a glimpse of the year to come.

Jimmy Braddock is up. No pun intended folks. I have too much respect for the man but, he is. It's all Ivy's fault.

Here's your links, dear readers.

First Glen Times of 2009

Hoh boy. Are you all headache free after the New Year celebrations? I think I'm doing fine thank's to Colleen's special hangover remedy. It had some stuff in it I wouldn't normally touch but it did beat back the morning afters.

So anyway. Our cub reporter, Layne has written some of the blurbs for the update tonight and she's done a stellar job of it. I have to say some things though cause you know me.
1. Julie and Sir Robert have some interaction here. A trifecta as a matter of fact and its great reading.
2. I want some of what Bridgid had
3. Jason Morgan is in for a rude awakening.
4. Is anyone more in love than the Braddocks?
With that said, here are your links. Have a little hair of the dog and enjoy. By the way, I really hate it when you find dog hairs in your soup. In my house growing up we referred to them as canine condiments.

Sir Robert and Julie St. John

Unattended and Yet Found

Sir Robert becomes Julie's Knight in Shining Armor.

The Possibilities of Tea

Now that she's found her knight can Julie get him to stay?

Creative Sentences

Sir Robert and Julie bathe together but not in the same house. Shame that. Will they end up at the same abode for a spot of tea?

Bridgid and Jack

Testudo Aubreii!

After Jack leaves her on the island, Bridgid is rescued by--Jack! Or is it Jack?

Jason Morgan

Jason Morgan, You Devil

The Glen's newest arrival is Bridgid's brother, but he doesn't find his sister at home.

Ivy and Jimmy Braddock

Midnight Contemplations

Ivy awakes to see the full scope of the result of Jimmy's injuries. There is a cure and its love, but in the words of Leonard Cohen, There ain't no cure for love.

That's it for tonight. I'm sure there will be more on the way tomorrow. Thanks for reading and to all you revelers out there, Colleen will be happy to pass on a copy of her old Irish hangover cure.

Cheers,

Cal
