Glen Times Update April 27

Howdy, Ya'll!

Resident Cub Reporter, Abby Campbell at your service, bringing you tonight's Glen Times Update. Yep, those two love birds must be at it again tonight, since they've left me in charge of things here. Actually, with all that's been going on in my life lately, I could definitely use the distraction! Ugh! Anyhow, here's what's in the news tonight...

April 27th, 2009

Seems the new shop, Barret's, has a big announcement for us tonight. First peeps in the shop will get a nice little surprise from that cute owner, I hear. Heh... don't know about you, but I'm marking the date on my calendar and plan on being first in line! Check it out:

GRAND OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT

Speaking of shops, Seems Ivy Braddock hasn't been around much in the new grocery. Yep, I hear she's gone and made herself an appointment down at the doc's place, and poor Jimmy is worried something fierce. Hang in there, Jimmy! Keepin' you and your lovely wifey in my thoughts and prayers!

Jim Braddock

Waiting is the Worst Part

Oh great! Seems the storm has stranded that husband of mine at the boarding house for the night. I swear, will I never get rid of that man?! He might have made a couple new friends, but I dare say Colin sure isn't one of them!

Dwayne, Alex Ross, and Arthur

Stranded For the Night

Well, lookie here... seems while on their way home from the honeymoon, Ben decides to plant a little seed in Liana's mind. Heck, why not, he's already planted one in her belly! (Oopsie! Did I say that out loud???) How will Liana react to Ben's plans for her? All I gotta say, is...You go, girl! (No matter what your hubby's ulterior motives may be!)

Ben and Liana

Going Home

Over at the Roberts' household, seems Toni can't get over the fact that Richie has a contract out on his life. Despite Richie's reassurances, it seems she might just have good reason to be worried. Oh my... someone call the sheriff!

Richie and Toni

Something to Think About

Once at his office, Richie decides to let Miss Peeg in on what's been going on in his life. Heh... knowin' Miss Peeg, she woulda found out sooner or later on her own, anyhow! Ha!

Richie Roberts and Miss Peeg

Richie Tells Miss Peeg

For Jack and Bridgid, a night on their ship turns to that of sheer terror. Can Bridgid hold it together long enough to help the injured Jack save their lives and ride out the storm? This is a nail-biter for sure, ya'll! Yo, I'm pulling for you two! Hang in there!

Jack and Bridgid

Terror

In case ya'll were wondering where my partner in crime was tonight, wonder no more. Seems Cal and Colleen sent her out on a little assignment - in the storm, no less! Hey, Libby! Answer your phone, darlin'! I hear there's a cute guy tryin' to call!

Dan and Libby

The Call

Well, that's all there is for tonight, folks! Thanks again to our wonderful staff and the best group of writers this cub reporter has seen 'round these parts! Love you all!

Happy reading!

Now, if you will kindly excuse me, I've got a bit of explainin' to do to... ... the Sheriff, as well as Colin.

Until next time... Peace out and all that jazz!

Big Glen Times Update

Howdy, Ya'll!

Abby Campbell, cub reporter, here bringing you tonight's Glen Times Update.
Quite a lot going on, as usual, in this little town of ours, I tell you what! Good thing, too, seeing as how Libby and I would like to keep our jobs here. Speakin' of jobs, I heard there's someone new that's lookin' to hire on down at that new grocery the Braddock's opened. Hmm... hope she minds her own and keeps those wanderin' eyes of Jimmy (though, I must admit, a gal sure can't help admiring a fine man like that! ).

Oh, and speakin' of fine lookin' men (no, I wasn't talkin' about you, Dwayne!), seems there's a lot going on over at Bud and Marie's place. Marie's got something on her mind, but is Bud ready to talk about it yet? Hang in there, darlin'... he'll come around eventually.

Seems there was a lot of racket over at the boarding house this week, starting with Arthur and some mess with his parents. Good thing my sweetie, Colin, was on hand to help clear things up or we might be losin' a good friend here in the Glen. Like my mama always said, sometimes, you just gotta learn to let the baby birds fly on their own.

Over at Rose Cottage, seems there's might be a bit of an identity crisis going on or something... now that he's out of the hospital and in Julie's loving care, Robert suddenly feels the need to make a few changes in his appearance, as well as his name... how does Julie feel about all this, though? Hey Robin, you can swing on by my neck of the woods anytime, sweetie!

Well, that storm is still going on, it appears... read on and find out what happened with some of our residents during the big flood. Seems Jack and Bridgid had a bit of an adventure, Steve and Millie helped out a couple in need, Travis, Jan and Tee are cleaning up the mess, and Amanda and Johnny even took in a misplaced flood survivor.

Tilly, however, seems to have made out okay with the flood, though she's a bit tight lipped with Toni about it. Heh... with a guy like Hando hangin' around, not sure if I'd wanna fess up about who I'm keepin' company with, either.

Speakin' of Toni, what's this going on with her hubby, Richie? Could it be someone from his past that he's not too keen on seeing again?

Oh, talkin' about pasts... just wait til you read part two of how Kelly and that hunky musician, Nick Russell, first hooked up!

Seems to be a lot of hookin' up this week in the Glen... just wait 'til you read about my fellow cubbie, Libby, and her date with that cute new Italian chef, March. And just what does Dan think about all this?

Now, I've put off tellin' you about me and my man troubles, but... I guess I might as well get it over with. Finally got through to have a bit of chat with my hunky mechanic, Colin ... unfortunately, I had a bit of an unexpected visitor and now I got a bit more explainin' to do... sigh... and now it seems we're in for a flood!

Okay, here's your links... happy readin'...

Glen Times Update April 16

Hi, Glen residents and guests. This is Cub Libby, as opposed to Cub Abby. Thought I'd try to make that clear, since some people seem to have been confused by our names! Those people had better not include Colin O'Brien or March Nova, or Abby and I will have to take matters into our own hands!

But enough about Abby and me. Tonight's Times issue is a solemn one, because there's not much good news right now. The flooding is causing serious problems, maybe even injuries and deaths, so it's not much of a time for comedy. With that thought in mind, here are your links:

Robert and Julie

A picture is worth a thousand words. But how much is an original of Sir Robert of Loxley(or is that Robin Hood) worth? If you're Julie, it's priceless!

The Portrait

Maximus, Joimus and Cort

This news is so big, it required seven parts to tell it all. Maximus, Cort, and the other men of the Meridius land battle the disaster of flood waters in the Glen. But will the battle for his land be unimportant to the General if the disaster claims his wife?

The Flood

Part 1 Autumn Anemones

Part 2 Just a Little More...

Part 4 The Wetness on her Face

The folks in the Glen aren't the only ones dealing with the flood. Miss Peeg and Travis' mother, Sarah, are trapped between Coff's Harbor and home. Will they be rescued in time?

The Botanical Flood

Toni and Richie

Someone makes it home through the flood waters--Richie Roberts. And is Toni glad to see him!

Richie makes it Home

Ivy and Ian

Ivy's Uncle Ian tries to make her see reason. She needs to take some time off from the store and deal with whatever illness is plaguing her.

Only talking Sense

Ivy and Hans Van Der Brecken

Ivy has a unique and beautiful way of bringing her father into the house she shares with Jim. His 'Rules' are both practical and touching.

Weather Report:
Tomorrow
will continue to be partly cloudy in the Glen, but the rain seems to have let up! Thank goodness! We'll continue to report on any injuries or damages caused by the flooding but, hopefully, the worst is over!

************ ***ENTERTAINMENT SECTION***** ********* ****

We don't do a section like this very often, but tomorrow a movie is coming out which holds a special place in Cal's heart. It's called "State of Play" and it's main character is an old-school investigative reporter, much like Cal himself! It stars an actor by the name of Russell Crowe, an Australian who's managed to make quite a name for himself in the world of cinema. All the reviews have been great, so go see it when you get a chance. And don't forget to let Cal know what you think!

Thanks to B for the uploads, Cal and Colleen for starting the paper in the first place, and all you wonderful writers and contributors who make the Glen possible!

Glen Times April 14th

Howdy Ya'll!

Cub reporter Abby here, bringing you tonight's Glen Times Update. You'll have to excuse me if I seem a bit... um... "moody" tonight... seems my hunky mechanic is on the outs with me right now, and well, I'm still a bit broken hearted by it all. Heh... at this point, even Cal is gettin' more lovin' than me! Ugh!

Anyhoo, enough about me and my pathetic love life... on with the update...

Speaking about my wonderful, handsome, charming boss (yes, I AM talking about Cal! lol! - never hurts to suck up to the boss now, does it? )... seems he must have had his head in the clouds thinking about Colleen when he did the last update, cuz he somehow managed to leave off our first two stories tonight...

Seems Zack Grant is feeling a bit broken up about the good Reverend's accident and decides to stop by for a short visit before Alistair is released from the hospital.

Over at Glenridge Station, that pesky mischief maker is back and just look what he's done to that old cabin Sweeny was staying in. What will Travis make of all this?

It's been three Sunday's in a row since he first went into the hospital, and Alistair's feeling a bit restless. But is it too soon for him to get back up at the pulpit? Hang in there, Alistair! you'll be back to your old self soon enough, sweetie! Don't push it!

In the next several chapters, seems Cort is asked to step in at the last minute, but what happens when he begans the sermon? And why is he suddenly having those "nightmares" in the daytime? Has he finally figured out just who he really is and how he came to be in the Meridiuses wheat field?

Now, Liana told Ben No More Surprises, so why has he laid yet another one on her? Seems that smooth talkin' devil even forgot to tell her about the honeymoon he planned for the two of them. Wow! Take notes, men of the Glen! Now THAT's a honeymoon!

After what happened with that delivery driver, seems Jim is lookin' to hire a friendly, responsible person to help out over at the grocery. Any takers?

Well, well, well... seems the local politics has really captured the minds of some of our residents. First, Jack and Sid announced their candidacy for Mayor of our little town, and now the General is tossing his ring into the fire, too, and running for a different office. Heh... you got my vote, Maxi!

Now, in this next little story, me and my co-hort in crime, Libby, spend some much needed time hangin' and having a bit of girl-talk together. Geeze, what's with those men of ours, anyway, Libby?

In our last story tonight, seems someone has come forward to petition Tee's adoption. Is he really the boy's dad, or will Richie and Travis have to "shake off a snake"?

Well, that's it for tonight, folks. Here's your links...

Latest Glen Times Update

Hi, everyone. Libby here. Cal and Colleen are off doing Lord-knows-what (and having fun, I hope!), and I guess Abby's practicing her speech explaining her marriage to Colin (just in case he ever gives her a chance to explain), so this issue's up to me!

As usual, there's a lot going on in the Glen. We have another candidate for mayor, and you'll never guess who! Whoever it is, from the sound of things, it looks as though there'll be a lot of babies to kiss!

One of the Glen's most beloved citizens is coming home from the hospital, as is the mysterious stranger who rescued him. There's an arrest and an arson thrown into the mix too!

Get yourself a scorecard so you can keep it all straight, and then sit down and read tonight's issue!

And here are your links:

They say fire cleanses. Tonight, Hando's trying to cleanse a part of his past. Will Tilly get caught up in the blaze?

Closure

Kim's about to meet someone new. Really new!

Introduction to the Future

Richie and Toni

Richie%20in%20court.jpg

With Mike having just left, Toni thinks it might be a good time to talk to Richie about a baby. But is he ready for the talk, let alone a baby?

A Pregnant Conversation

Ivy and Colleen

Colleen and Ivy finally get a chance for a talk and a lunch date. Remind me not to ever go to the restaurant they're at! It could be something in the water!

Ladies who Lunch

Jim, Ivy, Ian , Siobhan and Bud

There's an accident at the grocery store, caused by a drunk delivery driver. But is the damage all out in the open, or will there be more later?

Picking up the Perp

Bridgid, Jack and Alistair

Jack and Bridgid pay a visit to Alistair in the hospital. Seems they have ulterior motives for wanting him well. Something about a future, soon-to-be, something or other...

Two Visitors

Alistair, Maximus and Cort

Alistair's finally home at the Mill with Ahnna, his new study and his recliner. It might be a little too soon for one excited to welcome him home, though!

Welcome Home

Sid

Sid?! Running for mayor?! I honestly can't find anything else to say about this story!

Mister Harbor runs for Mayor

Robert and Julie

So, is Julie really taking Robin Hood home with her, or has she fallen off the crazy cart? Since Robert's being no help with answers, she'll have to leave it to her writer's imagination again.

In the Flesh

So there's all your news for tonight. I'll see all of you later. As I seem to be the only one on duty at the paper right now, I'm going to sit by the phone. You never know what else will happen around here!
