Josh Brolin Puts Foot In Mouth

I have no idea what Josh Brolin's shoe size is, but for his sake I hope it's small. On Monday night, at the New York Film Critics Awards dinner, Brolin insulted both Russell ("Quite an actor Sean Penn, quite an actor. Amazing. Not an a---hole. Like Russell Crowe. Like Russell Crowe.") and New York Times theater critic Ben Brantley ("Honestly, I hate that motherfucker. ... And I don't think he's a good writer").

Josh Brolin as ...

Brolin later mentioned that he didn't mean what he'd said about Russell, saying

although he didn't retract anything he'd said about Brantley. And Brolin did mention that he'd been drinking before making his appearance.

Honestly, Josh, is that any way to accept an award? By bashing your fellow actors? To my way of thinking, that makes you the a**hole!

A Personal Recommendation from Bridgid

I love fan fiction and I really love when someone comes up with something I can't put down. This story is just one example of it.

This particular story is on LibrisCrowe, a site that belongs to my good friend Jo. It's titled LIFELINE and written by Bailey.

Ten chapters may seem like a lot of reading but it moves so well you hardly notice. It left me wanting more. It's a love/hate thing when it happens. I enjoy the story so much that reading it is pure pleasure but when the end comes I say...damn!

If you get a chance, weather you are a fan of Hando or not, read this. He's not quite the same as he was in the film. Things change. This story moves at the speed of light.

We plugged it earlier on this blog but I'm giving it a personal thumbs up. Let us know what you think of it. Bailey sure is a wonderful writers.

Good work on the picture by Jo as well. Enjoy!

"Glen Times" Hurry up before the neighbors grab your paper!

Howdy all! Your friendly neighborhood snoop here. Okay, I've not been looking in the medicine cabinet at Joimus and Maximus' home. Yep we were there and you'll see some stuff coming up on the Community page but for now I'd like to get today's issue summarized for you.

We start out with a wonderful trilogy of chapters from Alistair and Ahnna. She confesses something to him and it brings on a story, a very interesting story that will surely leave you thinking.

Toni and Richie gives us a little glimpse as to what their honeymoon was like. Okay, we're not voyeurs. Close the door when you're done reading.

Then you can open the one on the Stanley family. Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest but not for Gena. She's on the move. See how Michael feels about it. Can you say...C'est la vie?

Hando is a major prick. Yep there you go. I know this is a family paper but he sure did hurt Marce with his poop. I did vindicate myself with that last bit, right?

Last but surely not least we have a bit from Cindy and Kim Barrett. That man is full of surprises and Cindy's little lad sure is a cutie. I know, that doesn't sound the kind of word a guy would use but I'm secure enough.

Anyone seen Colleen? Is she off at that funny smelling man's house? I bet he's making a quiche or something like that. Strange bird that he is. I bet he snooped in the Meridus' medicine cabinet. They should have filled it with marbles.

Okay, in the words of PT Barnum...there a sucker..OH wait..wrong words. The correct ones would be 'On with the show'

New Libriscrowe Update

I have just gotten up what is simply an absolutely breath-taking Hando story called Lifeline, by Bailey, who wrote An Emperor's Heart. Once again she has done a marvelous job, starting with the end of Romper Stomper and takes her readers on a well-crafted journey of discovery and redemption, excitment, and great danger. You won't be able to put it down. (It's complete in 10 chapters.)

Glen Times Arrives On Time

I did remember to type the date correctly. It is 2009 but my check book is slightly messed up. At least I got it right where it counts. Do you think if I put 2008 on my checks they'll be voided for being over ninety days old?

No such luck, huh?

Anyway. tonight we have another wonderful trilogy of tales from Sir Robert and Julie St. John, or should I say Julianna? These two give off sparks and in more ways than one. They certainly are an attractive couple. Must be all those mud baths I tell you.

Ben and Liana share their Christmas with us in their installment. Seems they're both bookworms but there are two special gifts under the tree. One for each of them and perhaps a glimpse of the year to come.

Jimmy Braddock is up. No pun intended folks. I have too much respect for the man but, he is. It's all Ivy's fault.

Here's your links, dear readers.

January 4th, 2009

Sir Robert and Julie St. John

Official State of Play Website

Here's the link to the official "State of Play" website:

State of Play

It has the movie's storyline, several pictures of the stars, and the official trailer. Not much else yet, but hopefully more the closer we get to the release date.

First Glen Times of 2009

Hoh boy. Are you all headache free after the New Year celebrations? I think I'm doing fine thank's to Colleen's special hangover remedy. It had some stuff in it I wouldn't normally touch but it did beat back the morning afters.

So anyway. Our cub reporter, Layne has written some of the blurbs for the update tonight and she's done a stellar job of it. I have to say some things though cause you know me.
1. Julie and Sir Robert have some interaction here. A trifecta as a matter of fact and its great reading.
2. I want some of what Bridgid had
3. Jason Morgan is in for a rude awakening.
4. Is anyone more in love than the Braddocks?
With that said, here are your links. Have a little hair of the dog and enjoy. By the way, I really hate it when you find dog hairs in your soup. In my house growing up we referred to them as canine condiments.

January 2nd, 2009

Sir Robert and Julie St. John

Unattended and Yet Found

Sir Robert becomes Julie's Knight in Shining Armor.

The Possibilities of Tea

Now that she's found her knight can Julie get him to stay?

Creative Sentences

Sir Robert and Julie bathe together but not in the same house. Shame that. Will they end up at the same abode for a spot of tea?

Bridgid and Jack

Testudo Aubreii!

After Jack leaves her on the island, Bridgid is rescued by--Jack! Or is it Jack?

Jason Morgan

Jason Morgan, You Devil

The Glen's newest arrival is Bridgid's brother, but he doesn't find his sister at home.

Ivy and Jimmy Braddock

Midnight Contemplations

Ivy awakes to see the full scope of the result of Jimmy's injuries. There is a cure and its love, but in the words of Leonard Cohen, There ain't no cure for love.

That's it for tonight. I'm sure there will be more on the way tomorrow. Thanks for reading and to all you revelers out there, Colleen will be happy to pass on a copy of her old Irish hangover cure.

Cheers,

Cal

New Chapter of Marshall at LibrisCrowe

THE CAVERN OF DEEP
HARMONY

PART EIGHTY-FOUR is now up on LibrisCrowe

If you’ve not read any of this magnificent story you can find the index page right here

Libriscrowe Update

Jo's starting off the new year with a big update on Libriscrowe.
http://libriscrowe. com/libriscrowei ndex1.html

There are three new-to-Libris stories by Kazlynh, author of the
excellent "The Price of Freedom" Terry story:
Rebel Cause, a Terry Thorne story where Terry, shot through
the back, and three freedom fighters are holed up in a frigid
mountain cave.
Shadows At Sunset, in which Colin meets a strangely
beautiful and different young woman
Elk Hunter, Elk Dreamer, another Terry story where he
and Dino embark on a truly unique elk hunt in Wyoming.

Bridgid has three stories up:
Two sequels to her prize-winning "The Eleventh"...
Guilty As Sin, the sequel to "Rude Awakening" wherein
you will laugh heartily as Steve is put on trial
Stranger Than Friction, a really cleverly-done and very,
very funny contact between a character and his author, and the
sequel to "Guilty As Sin"
My Name is Jodi, a Colin story about a young woman
kidnapped during a bank robbery at Christmas time.

The 6th chapter of Stacey's A Visit From Sid, where the
lusty nanotech has kidnapped the author, whose sister and
Terry Thorne attempt a rescue in a darkened house.

Two stories by Atonia Walpole:
The Well, an original fairy tale about a Prince (who looks
strikingly like Egan) and a lady he sees in a well.
The Saving of Robert Kinston, where a Russell-based
character who is a world-famous author finds himself in a desperate...
and dangerous... state of mind.

Nothing by me on this update, but I've been adding a lot to
The Glen on RCFF, as have a lot of the Libris authors.
So do check out our link for that. The Glen is updated nearly
every day and you'll find all your favorite Russell characters
there, including Sir Robert Tornham, and a few other Russell-
based ones.
Jo

Happy New Year!

Wishing a Happy New Year to everyone out in Croweland from all of us here!
